Alright! So this week was pretty routine except for a few highlights. We had a great meeting with our new ward mission leader. Hes an older guy with lots of gospel fire. We planned alot about how we can get the members more involved in the work and also made a calendar for when we will eat at members houses. We have food/friendshipping oppurtunities Everyday this week! Also, this friday and every other friday after that, were planning a movie night! For the members to get in, the price is a friend! Yay finding! The best parts of the week though were when we had a tour of the church with our friend Hector and when we visited an Evangelical Church. Hector has a date for the 27th of Feb. but still hasnt come to church, so we decided to have the lesson there! He loved every second, especially when we opened up the Baptismal Faunt and explained the significance. When we entered the chapel, the spirit was just like a wall. Ive never felt like that in a Chapel before. It was awesome. The only bad part was that...Hector still didnt come to church on Sunday. Sigh. Oh well, next week, next week.
The Evangelical Church was a very interesting experience. We were talking with one of our investigators and he said that he would go to our church if we went to his. "Well," we said, "why not?!" And so we went. 7 oclock at night. We got there and everyone started staring at us like we were aliens. We just smiled, waved and shook lots of hands. The meeting itself almost burst my eardrums. All the churches here that arent Catholic blast there meetings and music through enough speakers to shake the concrete foundations. To start, they sang a song for about 20 minutes. The same song...then another song. THen another. They even had special artists and groups from other church buildings, which were all rather terrible. :P The really interesting part was that the speakers were the bishops from america! And they didnt speak any spanish! They had to have a translator there. It was odd. The part that struck me most was that in the hour and a half that we were there, only one scripture was shared, and it was from Psalms. The fervor and booyah of the meeting covered any real spirituality or learning experience. My companion and I both thanked God afterward for the Order and Spirit of the Church of Jesus Christ.
SO yeah, that was the week! The church is true, The prophet is called of God, and I love preaching this Gospel! Love you all!
