25 July 2016 - Las Américas (Santo Domingo)

(Response to Dad's e-mail, in which he mentioned singing in a quartet, getting stem-cell injections in his shoulder, and seeing Hillary's America and Obama's America.)

A quartet would be awesome. I actually have a really cool arrangement of rock of ages thats its spanglish, so we could totally sing that when I get back! :D I pray for you guys every day that everything will turn out ok with your shoulder, school and all the other stuff. Also, quick side note, I figured out how to pull out cash! Im not sure how much it covers on international withdrawls, but I didnt take out too much.

That Hillary stuff sounds pretty sketchy. id like to see both those movies when I get back. I actually like chewed out one of my missionaries becuase he said that he was gonna vote for Hillary when he got back. I was just like, "NOOO!! Its a trap!!" But is Donald trump any better? How are things lookin with our new presidency?

Dave told me about that trip they are doing. Sounds awesome!

Love you dad! What kind of details do you want?

(General e-mail. NOTE: When he says "capacitation" he means "training".)

And it came to pass, in the end of the 13th month of reign of the Zone Leaders...

Hey! So I have time to write today!

Alright, so first lets talk a little about my calling, then the zone.

So ZL is pretty similair to DL, but with alot more phone calls and stress. We have this assistant assigned to us who is a fanatic about numbers and pushing people to be baptized. When he goes to far we just kind of have to ignore him. So pretty much our job is to make sure the DLs do their job right. We keep track of dates, give follow up and report to the assistants. This last week we also got a special capacitation from whats called a Super Zone Leader or, in other words, those who train the ZLs. It was cool.

So for the Zone, we have a goal of 26 baptisms this month. As of yet we have ten, but dont lose heart! I am sure the next letter will be full of all the miracles that we saw to complete the goal!

The hardest part is dealing with the laziness and disobedience of other companionships. I just want to go and boche the lot of them (like give them a tongue lashing) but we all know that doesnt work.

We have alot of meetings as well. Every month we have a leaders Council with president and all the other ZLs, as well as a stake council, again with president and also our stake presidency.

Our stake leaders are dope. They work really hard and are really tight with president.

Our ward....well...it used to be one of the strongest wards in the whole mission. Now its slowly turning back into a branch. Theyve cut down its boundaries quite a bit to give parts to new branches and wards, leaving us rather destitute. Now there are even more less actives because people who are supposed to be in this ward just go to their old ones becuase they dont care. So yeah. Workin on it though.

We also divided the area again. We had this terrible section that is about an hour of brisk walking from the church. We saw no progress, so we divided again. Now were in the middle and are contacting todo el mundo! (Everyone)

The week was mostly contacts and a few lessons here and there. Yesterday we spent like 2 hours searching for a house.

One thing I would like to say before closing is that it is truly spectacular the level of spiritual guidance we recieve. We were not supposed to chance a date, we know. When we shouldnt walk down a certain street, we know. The Lord loves and watches over us.

Also today we went to Dennys and I ate a Maple Bacon Sunday. Couldnt resist.

Love you all´!

18 July 2016 - Las Américas (Santo Domingo)

(General e-mail)

Alright. So. I got 15 minutes so Ill try to fill this up with details that wont put you to sleep. So, two weeks ago I was chillin in Villa Mella, when suddenly the phone rings. The caller ID says President Corbitt. I hurriedly answer. After the niceties Presdient asks me "Elder Frogley, are you keeping your covenants?" I replied in the affirmative. "Good," he said, "so im callin you as Zone Leader in the new Las Americas Zone. So Im back in Las Americas, but we split the zone! Im now white washing La Caleta C with Elder Allen from Wellsville. I actually knew him in high school. haha

Mmmm. I also bought some Brie from the super market.

We ate MEXICAN FOOD!

(Second e-mail, by accident apparently)

I did not mean to hit the send button. haha So the week was pretty simple. We have just been contacting the stink our of every street we hit. For now with limited success but we know that the prepared people are there! Weve had several big meetings about mission policies and other cool ZL stuff, but details would drag on for pages.

Elder Allen is also knew as a ZL so its a bit hard sometimes knowing what to do, but we get along with the help of the Lord. Ill try to send a photo of my comp.

So. The ward is tiny. It used to be the biggest, but it took several cuts and alot of inactivity and now is almost read to convert back into a branch.

Our area is SUUUUPER far from both the church and the house. We have to walk a half our to preach and from our area to the church is about an hour. As a result its been kinda rough to get people to church. Our finding efforts have also been rather dry, but itll come. We only have 2 members in our area, and both are rather odd. One, Paulino the ex bishop, gives us a truckload of the worst references ever and dont get him started talking about Trujillo (president slash mob boss)!! Its fun though. Well, I love you all and hope you all search for ways to come closer to The Lord. BYE!

11 July 2016 - Las Américas (Santo Domingo)

(Response to Dad's e-mail, in which Dad mentioned some treatments for his shoulder, Dad's plans to further his education even more, Ian being Ian, etc.)

Cool Cool Cool! Love it! Ive been praying alot that you can know what must be done with your schooling. Ill include your shoulder too!

Ian sent me the pics of his sky diving trip! So cool!

In my BOM study Im in Alma 57. Man I lvoe captain Moroni. I also saw alot of parralels between the stripling warriors and us as missionaries. All young and facing an inumberable host, but if you obey our orders with exactness, we will triumph. We will acquire many, many injuries on the way, but we will not fail, nor fall, IF we hold firm and undaunted in the faith. Love you Dad! Ive got big news!

(General e-mail)

Hey Fam, so I lvoe you all but I have no time to write at all! Im ZL now back in las americas, opening a new zone and a new area. Ok buy. Details next week!

4 July 2016 - Villa Mella (Santo Domingo)

(Response to Dad's e-mail, in which we learned that Jessica is spending a week in Ireland, Dad made grain-free pancakes for the ward Independence Day breakfast, and the family celebrated Carson Thomson's second birthday after Jason came from his latest assignment.)

Coool! Cool! Cool! Haha That sounds great dad! ANd I loved those pictures. Carson is two?!?! Shoot dang that was fast! And Jes is going to Ireland?? THats one of my dreams. Man, Im jealous.

But something you said did make me rather said. Did you really just tell me that you tried to make "grain free" pancakes? That just sounds like blasphemy. Why disfigure such a beautiful thing like that?

The week was great! We went to the temple and it was AMAZING!! Man what a spirit. I also took my patriarchal blessing to the celestial room. That was really cool as well. It mentions the importance that I lean languages, culture and beliefs, but I got a slight sensation that that will be used more in my church callings than in my future work. I also felt that if I attend BYU Id have the best oppurtunity to learn as the Lord Wants me too. I still havent made a firm decision about everything, but thats a definate possibility.

I am definately finding joy in what I do. Lately its been kind of hard to push away thoughts of home, but I still work hard and pray for Father to help me focus and give my will to him that I can be an instrument in his hands.

I am studying a few things right now. Ive started PMG over again, Im reading in ALma, at about chapter 47 more or less, and I also just finished a personal essay of President Corbitt about race and the priesthood. That was awesome. Very inspired if you ask me.

Love you Dad! HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY! MURICA!

(General e-mail)

OOOOOOOOH SAY CAN YOU SEEEEEEEE,
BY THE DAWNS EARLY LIGHT,
WHAT SO PROUDLY WE HAILED,
AT THE TWILIGHTS LAST GLEAMING
Etc.

I dont feel like typing all of the song, but HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!!! WOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MURICA!! THE PROMISED LAND! YEAH!

Alright, now that ive let out that brief bout of patriotic cheer, lets review the week shall we?

So this week was pretty cool, and also pretty hard. Cool because we found alot of cool people and put more baptismal dates! At the beginning of the week, we had 2. Now, we have 14! Alot of them are very shaky, but I know that if God wants them to be baptized this month, the will be. This month we have a goal as a zone to baptize 3 individuals and a family, and right now we have a bit more that that (just by a little). Now the key will be giving alot of follow up, leaving with more members and helping the persons get to church.

One of the families, the Lopez Family, is really awesome. Their kids will definately get baptized, the the real trouble is with the dad. He wants to come to church, but always works on Sundays. Also, during the lessons, he has the craziest questions. About aliens and weird bizarre doctrines and he just loves to talk. He still said that he would be baptized when he recieves his answer though. The temple trip was awesome!

ALso, today we had a special zone activity where we sang the star spangled banner, grilled hot dogs and hamburgers and played Uno, Monopoly (card version) and dominoes. It was great.

I am out of time, but I love you all! Have a great week!
