25 July 2016 - Las Américas (Santo Domingo)

(Response to Dad's e-mail, in which he mentioned singing in a quartet, getting stem-cell injections in his shoulder, and seeing Hillary's America and Obama's America.)

A quartet would be awesome. I actually have a really cool arrangement of rock of ages thats its spanglish, so we could totally sing that when I get back! :D I pray for you guys every day that everything will turn out ok with your shoulder, school and all the other stuff. Also, quick side note, I figured out how to pull out cash! Im not sure how much it covers on international withdrawls, but I didnt take out too much.

That Hillary stuff sounds pretty sketchy. id like to see both those movies when I get back. I actually like chewed out one of my missionaries becuase he said that he was gonna vote for Hillary when he got back. I was just like, "NOOO!! Its a trap!!" But is Donald trump any better? How are things lookin with our new presidency?

Dave told me about that trip they are doing. Sounds awesome!

Love you dad! What kind of details do you want?

(General e-mail. NOTE: When he says "capacitation" he means "training".)

And it came to pass, in the end of the 13th month of reign of the Zone Leaders...

Hey! So I have time to write today!

Alright, so first lets talk a little about my calling, then the zone.

So ZL is pretty similair to DL, but with alot more phone calls and stress. We have this assistant assigned to us who is a fanatic about numbers and pushing people to be baptized. When he goes to far we just kind of have to ignore him. So pretty much our job is to make sure the DLs do their job right. We keep track of dates, give follow up and report to the assistants. This last week we also got a special capacitation from whats called a Super Zone Leader or, in other words, those who train the ZLs. It was cool.

So for the Zone, we have a goal of 26 baptisms this month. As of yet we have ten, but dont lose heart! I am sure the next letter will be full of all the miracles that we saw to complete the goal!

The hardest part is dealing with the laziness and disobedience of other companionships. I just want to go and boche the lot of them (like give them a tongue lashing) but we all know that doesnt work.

We have alot of meetings as well. Every month we have a leaders Council with president and all the other ZLs, as well as a stake council, again with president and also our stake presidency.

Our stake leaders are dope. They work really hard and are really tight with president.

Our ward....well...it used to be one of the strongest wards in the whole mission. Now its slowly turning back into a branch. Theyve cut down its boundaries quite a bit to give parts to new branches and wards, leaving us rather destitute. Now there are even more less actives because people who are supposed to be in this ward just go to their old ones becuase they dont care. So yeah. Workin on it though.

We also divided the area again. We had this terrible section that is about an hour of brisk walking from the church. We saw no progress, so we divided again. Now were in the middle and are contacting todo el mundo! (Everyone)

The week was mostly contacts and a few lessons here and there. Yesterday we spent like 2 hours searching for a house.

One thing I would like to say before closing is that it is truly spectacular the level of spiritual guidance we recieve. We were not supposed to chance a date, we know. When we shouldnt walk down a certain street, we know. The Lord loves and watches over us.

Also today we went to Dennys and I ate a Maple Bacon Sunday. Couldnt resist.

Love you all´!
