4 April 2016 - Boca Chica (Santo Domingo)

(Response to Dad's e-mail. There was more, but it was of a more personal nature. Also, the Frogley tradition is for the men and boys attending Priesthood Session to go out for Mexican before the session.)

Dad, I have some very bad news.................I did not eat Mexican on saturday. My heart was crushed. BUT We did eat semi authentic Italian pizza today, so that was pretty swell. My son is awesome! More about that in the big letter. Conference was truly inspiring. Wow. What a spirit.

(General e-mail)

Conference!! Man that was great! I didnt want it to end! I laughed, I cried. It moved me Bob. ( If any of you get that quote, Ill be proud of you.) Starting with President Eyerings testimony in the very beginning, the Spirit was just there. I loved the emphasis on families and how much our Heavenly family loves us. Elder Oaks´ talk about the purpose of oppisition was also really great. Elder Holland had me in almost in tears like normal. He is so amazing. I was a little concerned about how little we heard from our Prophet though. He only spoke for very brief intervals, especially in Priesthood session. Still amazing though.

The rest of the week! So tuesday I headed up to the capitol to pick up my son! His name is Elder Call from Spocan (no idea how to spell that) Washington. We are very similar and he too loves to sing! We got back to the house with our Zone Leaders and one of the senior missionary couples to find that....our house got robbed again! That makes 4 times now. The foolish mortal still didnt take anything actually valuable though. He snagged all our speakers and a fair amount of cash, tore through all my suitcases and stole my sandals. He didnttake my camera, the house DVD player, my nice shoes, my watch or any fans. Hurray! So we fixed up the back door, chained up the hole he made in our patio and pray that it doesnt happen again.

The rest of the week was pretty swell though! We had lots of meetings so we didn´t get too many lessons in, but the ones we had were great. We set 8 new baptismal dates too! Speaking of baptismal dates, I have to tell you about the miracles we saw in the last transfer. So the stake set an inspired goal of 90 baptisms for the trimester. At the beginning of last month, we still needed 46. We got 31 in the White Night, but we still needed 15. We were all kind of freaking out in how we were going to prepare 15 people for baptism in like 2 weeks. Well...the weeks past and we invited people with faith and zone put 14 baptismal dates. The day of the baptisms came and in the midst of the sacred ordinances, one of the investigators from one of the other areas recieved her answer. She told the Elders she wanted to be baptized. They rushed off to do the interview, got her changed, and she was the 15th baptism to fulfill our goal of 90. Last transfer we saw so many miracles in preparing for this inspired goal. It was truly spectacular. This taught us all to trust more and more in the Lord, and less in ourselves. When the Lord says we can do something, He means it.

As for our current baptismal dates, we have Miriam who is totally awesome. She lives in Goatierre (the little town in our area. Kind of far away) and is the cousin of the only member that lives out there. She has a huge desire to join the church. She read the restoration pamphlet and practically memorized it before our next visit. We put a date with her and alot of her cousins. We also have Dafni...again. Dafni reeeaaally wants to be baptized, but is still living with her bum of a boyfriend. So we have to get him to shape up and also get the married. We´re going to have a family home evening with them tonight, so we´ll see if we cant get Francisco (the BF) to participate. Well, I love you all! Have a great week!
