21 April 2014 - Clima Bom, Brazil
So we have the transfer update! But I'm sure you saw that in the header. I think it means "good climate," but isn't that all of Brazil? Anyway, the time is rapidly approaching when we will welcome Elder Frogley back into our midst, and he will be reporting back to a new stake presidency because Mom and Dad are moving to Layton. Hope that goes well--still trying to sell the old house.
Anyway...
I cant believe that i only have 6 months left. Im waiting for my plane ticket to come anyday now. haha, weird. But thats crazy about the other stake! I haddent thought about that! Will i give my homecoming talk in Providence or there? And dont i have to be released by Pres. Hill? Ah, well. Itll sort it self out. But crazy stuff happened this week!!!First off transfers. I went to Farol on Tuesday to get my area and my comp. Im the new DL in Clima Bom. Its like 5 min from my last area. Im actually in my old area right now visiting with my old comp who im living with now. Haha, its super chill! Im with a new american now. hes been here for 3 months and just finished his training. His name is Elder Steven, and cool. Kinda quiet, but cool. Being district leader is cool. I do pretty much the same thing, but now i have to do interviews for baptisims and i have to do more paper work. So thats fun. But the area is way cool! Its all flat for one thing. Which was a welcome change. its a bigger area but there are tons of people here ready for baptisim. In our first week we marked 6 baptisim for the next two weeks. And almost all of them were references from members. We got a reference from the other elders for a man who wants to be baptised now. Like right now! The first time we visited him he told us that hed talked with the bishop and asked for a baptism prep class cause he wanted to be baptised as quickly as possible. He believes EVERYTHING we tell him. Hes very smart and knows a lot about the bible. Hes been to several different churches but said that the Church of Jesus Christ is the only one hes ever wanted to be baptised in. He reads everything we give him, he already keeps all the comandments, and didnt even ask why he couldnt drink coffee or tea. He also stopped drinking Coke just cause he thought it would be better. Hes already a steak pres pretty much, all he needs to do is be baptised. We marked 3 o clock with him one time, but we were late and got there at 4 and he was infront of his house sleeping and waiting for us. Just the most prepared guy ive ever met in my life. Super cool.We also met a women, also a reference, we wanted to be taught because shes dating a return missionary from Sao Paulo. she loved the lessons and shes really honest with us. The second time we visited her she started crying out of no where and told us that she didnt know if she should be dating the return missionary because he was in the middle of a devorce but not devorced yet. Shes really good and will be baptised next week. Also were teaching a young lady who likes the church a lot but is waiting for an answer to prayer still. In her church they only pray with veils, which suprised me. They called in the true form of prayer. but shes really smart and still reads EVERYTHING we give her. She was a reference from a guy in another ward. He wants her to be baptised so he can date her. Sneaky punk, but ill go with it. Haha, life is good here! Its started to rain a ton, wich is exactly how i like it! My mission pres is about to leave the mission so were prepping for his departure. Also the world cup is coming up. Its getting crazy already, im soooo excited! Itll be so fun here! Haha, for Easter here, ya know how they celebrated? There were a ton of fireworks all night and a guy got shot while we were eating lunch at a members house! Maceio is crazy. Anyway, love yall!Elder Frogley
