20 May 2013 - Maceió Brazil

Hello again, and welcome back. Thanks for joining us. This week Elder Frogley ponders the difficulty Brazilians (and probably everybody else) have with the concept of marriage--whether it's getting married instead of just living together or staying married once you get around to it, people can be tough to deal with as a missionary. But lots of other things are going great!

Alright, first before I forget! Do yall think you could send me a pen drive with Michael Mcleans  the forgoten Carrols and The Garden Music on it! And maybe the City of Joseph sound track and such music as the family use to listen to in the past! All church please cause thats all we can listen to! Thanks!
Alright! Now for the letter! Sounds like life is progressing! I wana go hyking! That sounds tight!  I miss that stuff!! But the work here is awesome! Lets list it up from least interesting to most: first was Debora, we were knocking doors in the bottom of the grota and we stumbled on this women who just awkwardly stared at me the entire time. She invited us in so we sat down and just started talking about life as we waited for her daughter. Her daughter came out and imediately started asking questions. She believed that her church (symbalea) was the church of God so we taught about prophets and authority. She was very intentive and curious and we gave her a pamphlet on the restoration. That was a week ago and we visted her again Saturday, yea yall were watching tv and I was teaching about prophets, hehehe! So she had read the pamphlet and had more questions so we taught the entire thing and answered questions. Then gave her a BofM and challenged her to baptism. Her baptism is next week! If she gets an answer. Thats a problem here, people arent really intent durring prayer. Next investigators are Geli and Yuri. She looks American and Yuri is my twin. Just with brown flowing hair and a little darker skin. He went to a member activity but missed church. His baptism is closing in too so he needs to get there. His mom is really intent on being baptised but her and her husband have a LOT of preparing to do which we´ll help with for sure. They both have to get devorced from their old spouces and have to get married together. Ahhhh! Why are people her so ficle with relationships! Next is Gabriela! Shes pretty cool! We taught her in active Mother (for 30 years) a few weeks ago. We gave her a pamphlet and called her lost. We went back to visit and her daughter Gabriela was there. We asked her about the pamphlet and she said her daughter stole it. Gabriela said she had and she read it. She asked if she could visit church and we said of course. She also said she had lots of questions about the pamphlet! We said awesome! We taught about the first lesson and she said she wanted to read the BofM, go to church and then shed be baptised. We didnt have to do hardly anything! Only problem is that shes 16 and she ´´married´´. Pretty common here and really annoying.  So That should be interesting. Running out of time but have one more story to recount! Cleide and Damiao! Remember them? Well my calling as a missionary apparently included mairage councilor. They want a devorce! What the poop! When we visited they were acting so childish and bickering that I actually yelled at them! In English! That shut them up. We then had a calm conversation about the problems they were having and made some goals to improve, one being to talk to the bishop. They are basically just staying together for the kids for now but hopefully we´ll change that. Anyway, sorry this was such a long letter but it was a good week! I finished Jesus the Chist and now am reading Our Heritage about the early church! Really miraculous! Love you Family! I have a birthday party with the members next p day so dont worry, theyre taking care of me!
Love Elder Frogley
